A Chartered Accountant by profession, Mr. R. Renganathan joined Ceylinco Consolidated in 1983. He was entrusted with the task of setting up the Life Division of Ceylinco Insurance after the Government of Sri Lanka permitted private Insurers to enter the Insurance industry in 1987. A firm believer in the miracle of Life Insurance, with a vision of protecting every Sri Lankan family with a Ceylinco Life Insurance policy, he has put together a team of professionals who share this common objective. With his guidance Ceylinco Life has continued to maintain market leadership in the Sri Lanka Insurance industry. Today Mr. Renganathan is also the Executive Chairman of Ceylinco Life. Upon achieving success in the field of Life Insurance he ventured in to the Cancer sector with the idea of establishing affordable healthcare to the people of Sri Lanka. With the affiliation of the Washington Cancer Institute, he began by initially setting up a cancer detection centre. He is also responsible for setting up Sri Lanka’s first private sector Cancer Treatment Centre, which is equipped with the very latest, state-of-the-art technology.

Mr. E. T. L. Ranasinghe has over 46 years’ experience in the mercantile sector, Sales, Marketing and Strategic Planning. He holds a MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayawardenepura.

He is one of the pioneer members of the team who set up Ceylinco Insurance Plc in 1988.

He currently serves as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Ceylinco life Insurance Limited, Director of Ceylinco Healthcare Services Limited, Serene Resorts Limited and a non-executive director of Kings Hospital Colombo (Pvt)Ltd.

Mr. Jayawardena is a professional in the field of Finance with 25 years experience. He joined Ceylinco’s Life division in 1990 as Chief Accountant (Branches) and has since then, made a valuable contribution towards the company’s success. His expertise and commitment resulted in him being elevated to the Board of Directors, in 2005. Today he serves as Director/Chief Financial Officer of Ceylinco Life. Mr. Jayawardena if a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka as well as the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka.

Vidya Jyothi Emeritus Professor Rohan W. Jayasekara is a distinguished academic, visionary medical geneticist, and former Dean and Senior Professor of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. A true pioneer in Sri Lanka’s scientific landscape, he founded the Human Genetics Unit in 1983 — a milestone that established Human Genetics as a formal discipline in the country. His leadership and vision have shaped generations of medical professionals and scientists. Professor Jayasekara obtained his PhD in Cytogenetics from the University of Newcastle, United Kingdom, as a Commonwealth Research Scholar, and continues his remarkable teaching, research and administrative career, now in its 51st year. He is a Chartered Biologist, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, London, and a Senior Commonwealth Fellow. He is also a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka and the College of Ophthalmologists of Sri Lanka. Among his many honours are the President’s Award for Scientific Publications for six years and the National Research Council Merit Award for Scientific Research for three years. In 2017 he was conferred the title ‘Vidya Jyothi’, a national honour for his outstanding scientific & technological achievements.

Mr. Samitha Hemachandra is the Executive Director / Chief Operating Officer at Ceylinco Life, the market leader in Life Insurance. He counts more than 25 years of work experience in Sales Management, Brand Management, Marketing Management and Strategic Planning. He has been directly involved in designing, developing and implementing many integrated marketing communication campaigns to date. He was recognized as Brand Champion at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards of 2004, 2005 and 2008 for his contribution to the ‘Ceylinco Life’ brand, which was adjudged Brand of the Year and Service Brand of the Year. He is a Fellow (FCIM) and Chartered Marketer of CIM – UK, Certified Management Accountants (CMA) – Australia and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Sydney.

Mr. L. V. Keragala is an accomplished corporate leader with over 24 years of cross-sector experience spanning the telecommunications and life insurance industries. He brings extensive expertise in digital transformation, customer relationship management, contact center leadership, operations management, marketing and communications, with a strong emphasis on governance, process excellence, and customer-centric strategy.

He currently serves as Deputy General Manager – Digital Transformation at Ceylinco Life Insurance PLC, where he plays a key role in defining and executing enterprise digital strategy. In this capacity, Mr. Keragala has led several large-scale, business-critical initiatives, including the implementation of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, Document Management Systems (DMS), a digital referral ecosystem (Friendship Circle App), and an integrated Lead Management System, significantly enhancing operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and customer experience.

Mr. Keragala also heads the Customer Relations Division at Ceylinco Life, overseeing policyholder engagement, service governance, and relationship management across the organization, while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, service standards, and long-term business sustainability.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mr. Keragala serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Premier Wealth Management Limited and as a Board Member / Independent Non-Executive Director at Nestor Stock Brokers (Pvt) Ltd. In these roles, he provides independent oversight and strategic guidance, particularly in areas of digital enablement, customer experience, operational resilience, and risk-aware decision-making, contributing to sound corporate governance and sustainable growth.

Mr. Keragala is a Chartered Marketer accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK, and holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also an advocate of leadership development and effective communication, having been an active member of the Ceylinco Life Toastmasters Club, where he previously served as Vice President – Membership.

His professional approach is grounded in integrity, independent judgment, digital innovation, and stakeholder-centric governance, enabling him to add value at both executive and board levels.

Mr. De Silva who has over 12 years experience in Senior Management, played an important role in setting up the Ceylinco Diabetes Centre as well as the Radiation Unit and Tomotherapy Centre. He joined the Ceylinco Life team in 2002 where he was appointed to the Finance and Investments Division. He was appointed as General Manager of Ceylinco Cancer care in 2008. Mr. De Silva holds a BBA (special) Honors, ACCA and a MBA from the University of Colombo.

Dr. Sarath Abeyakoon had over 18 years of experience as a senior consultant in the field of oncology. He served as Consultant Oncologist at the Maharagama Cancer Hospital and was also the Senior Specialist Medical Officer in Charge of the Cancer Unit in Papua New Guinea for three years. Dr. Abeyakoon, who received extensive training in both Sri Lanka and at the Royal London Hospital Whitechapel, UK, also served as Chairman of the Board of Study in Clinical Oncology in Sri Lanka from 2003 to 2006.
